Human Hair

Wigs for Cancer Patients

Understand why human hair is hated enough for people to perform male pubic hair removal, and loved enough to be used to make natural looking wigs for cancer patients to help them through their chemotherapy ordeal.

Impact of chemotherapy on human hair Cancer patients' wigs really help them with their self-esteem while struggling to cope with the terrible side-effects of chemo.

Patients are prepared to pay a lot for natural looking wigs of human hair to cover their thin hair.

The picture is of my sister (who has cancer) at a chemotherapy session with the three sisters who work at the oncology hospital she gets treatments.

She never lost all her hair during the chemo treatment. Luckily she had a huge amount of hair when she started her treatment.

You can ask any hair dresser about the expenses people are prepared to pay for their crowning glory! Wigs for cancer patients, who have lost their hair after chemotherapy, are even covered by medical insurance.

Hair of children and adults

Human hair of children at different ages All babies have very soft hair that gets coarser and thicker as they grow older.

After puberty the soft vellus hair on the body changes to coarse androgenic hair when the hormones kick in.

This picture is of my sister with cancer's daughter and her children. The three children ranges in ages between toddler, pre-teen to adolescent.

It is quite clear how soft and fine the baby's hair is against the other three's hair.

Only mammals have hair on their bodies. Shells, scales, feathers, etc can be found on the bodies of the other animals.

Hair on the bodies of mammals can be nearly non-existant, or the whole body can be covered by it. This is called fur.

Mammals living in very cold climates, like bears, have thick fur covering their bodies. Fur is also found on the bodies of cats, dogs, mice, rabbits, etc.

Race specific human hair

Human hair of caucasian and negroid women The amount of hair on human bodies differ a lot, because of human differenciation into three distinct races.

The three human races are divided into caucasoid, negroid and mongoloid. Very specific racial characteristics is visible in each of the three groups.

The hair of caucasians can be either very straight, curly or even frizzy. Negroid hair comes in various degrees of frizziness. Mongoloid hair is extremely straight.

Exceptions to the rules will always be present. That happens because our forefathers, and their forefathers before them, mixed their blood with other races.

The result is a little bit of the characteristics of both races will be present in the offspring. Genetics determine which racial traits will be uppermost in the child.

The amount of human hair on the bodies of the different races is another racial differenciation. The most body hair can be found on caucasian bodies. The amount again differ between nationalities. Negroid and mongoloid people have very little body hair.

Importance of human hair

Unwanted human hair on male back The amount of body hair, as well as those on the head, is of the utmost importance to most people.

People are prepared to go to extreme lengths to get rid of their unwanted body hair.

Especially male pubic hair removal is currently popular all over the world. They all look for quick hair removal options.

Interestingly enough, abdominal hair is not very unpopular.

But, the same can not be said about back hair.

Hair on the back is the most hated of all male body hair. It's the first hair that MUST go!

Hair braiding styles are very popular amongst African-Americans. Lovers of this look will have the braids taken out, just to be immediately replaced by another braiding style. Traction alopecia (hair loss) can be the result after a while.

Unfortunately this type of hair loss is permanent. The hair line recedes from ear to ear all around the face. I have seen people living in South Africa with hair lines that have receded halfway to the crown of their heads.

And they still wear what is left of their hair in braids! That is just unbelievable to me.
