Nose Hair Removal

Male Facial Hair Removal Options

Nose hair removal should be part of removing beard stubble daily. Metrosexual men consider eyebrow grooming and ear hair removal as part of their bathroom grooming regime. This is commonly known as manscaping.

The days, when it was considered to be OK for men to sprout unsightly hair from all their facial orifices, are definitely in the past.

By facial orifices I mean the nostrils and ears. Men tend to sprout increasing amounts of hair from these places as they grow older.

We are now living in the age of the well-groomed metrosexual man.

Male facial hair removal is considered a "compulsory" part of manscaping.

Why should I consider nose hair removal?

Female's thought - you need nose hair removal Most women are shorter than men. That is a fact.

Have you ever considered how your nose looks from her height?

Please allow me (as a woman) to enlighten you.

She looks directly up into your nose, because your nose is normally at the height of her eyes.

It looks something like the picture to the right to her! Now imagine a lot of unruly hair sticking out of your nostrils. Not such a nice thought, hey!

She'll hate what she sees when she looks up at you, but because she likes you, she won't say anything about it, to save you embarrassment.

Nose hair removal options

Various hair removal methods are available, but not all af them can be used with equal success inside the nose. Your best hair remover options are:
  • Nose hair trimmer - this will give quick hair removal results. The problem is, you will be left with hard stubble when the hair start to grow again – that means nearly immediately. You will be sporting visible "nose designer stubble"!

  • Small scissor - the same as above, but tricky to perform. Hair will feel exactly the same as beard stubble, because the soft tapered tip of the hair has been cut off. You will be left with hair that was cut straight across at its widest place. Therefore the hair looks and feels thick, hard and stubbly.

  • Nose wax - hot wax hair removal gives long lasting (about 4 weeks) results. Because the whole hair is removed from the hair follicle, a new hair has to be produced again. This production of a new hair takes several weeks, during which time you will be without nose hair. The new hair grows out with a soft, tapered tip.

Unsuitable nose hair removal options

  • Cold waxing and sugaring - the consistency of both are as thin as honey, making it possible to flow into the nasal canal. It is applied extremely thinly and removed with the help of a waxing strip. Impossible to do inside the small nasal opening.

  • Hair removal creams - because it is harsh chemicals that react with the protein in hair, it should't be used on the sensitive mucous lining inside the nose. You will get chemical burns inside your nose.

  • Photo epilation - this means laser and IPL (intense pulsed light) treatments. Both methods require the light to be delivered at a right angle to the skin, making it impossible inside the limited space inside the nose.

  • Tweezer - quite possible, but really improbable if you plan to remove a lot of nose hair. The nose and eyes water involuntarily when a single nose hair is plucked out. That would mean quite a wet treatment if you want to tweeze out all your visible nose hair!

  • Electrolysis - the probe must be inserted separately into every hair follicle, while following the natural growth direction of each hair. Quite impossible in the limited space inside the nose.

Which method do I recommend?

I definitely recommend a nose wax as the best hair removal method for nose hair removal. You have a choice between a professional waxing at a beauty salon or waxing at home.

The eyes and nose will water after the wax has been janked out of the nose. That means the nose and eyes will water twice – meaning after each nostril has been waxed. Maybe again when some touching-up is deemed necessary.

Follow the link lower on this page to get easy to follow step-by-step instructions on how to do a nose wax at home. I must stress that hot wax must be used. This type of face waxing need to be repeated about once a month. The results are not permanent.
